In response, Qihoo 360 issued an online statement calling on netizens to stop using QQ for three days.
360 shut down "Koukou Bodyguard".
October 29
360 issued its new security software "Koukou Bodyguard". The software can block automatic pop-up advertisements on QQ. Previously, users have had to pay 10 yuan ($1.5) a month to Tencent for membership services that include blocking the advertisements.

Tencent, Kingsoft, Baidu, Maxthon and Keniu posted a joint statement online accusing 360 of unfair competition.

Tencent posted a notice on the Internet saying Qihoo is under investigation on suspicion of promoting pornography websites.
Tencent said that the so-called privacy scanning is a misunderstanding about QQ's security solutions. QQ did not invade users' private information, and no privacy would be leaked after logging in to QQ, Tencent said.
