Chinese shares close mixed Wednesday

BEIJING: Chinese equities closed mixed Wednesday. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,056.81 points, up 0.12 percent, or 3.68 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 12,290.04 points, down 14.94 points, or 0.12 percent.

Combined turnover was $191.9 billion ($28.1 billion), slightly up from 191.2 billion yuan on the previous trading day.

Losers outnumbered gainers by 435 to 424 in Shanghai, while gainers stood at 541 with losers at 344 in Shenzhen.
