China Enterprises Index up 2.31% Monday

HONG KONG - The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange jumped 275.43 points, or 2. 31 percent, to close Monday's trading at 12,202.80.

The H-shares index, initiated in August 1994 and readjusted on September 7, 2009, tracks the overall performance of 44 major Chinese mainland state-owned enterprises listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The Hang Seng China H-Financials Index surged 379.51 points, or 2.33 percent, to close at 16,644.69.

The H-Financials Index, initiated on November 27, 2006, readjusted on September 10, 2007, tracks the performance of nine major banks and insurers of the Chinese mainland.

The Hang Seng China-Affiliated Corporations Index rose 70.88 points, or 1.76 percent, to close at 4,102.12.

The index tracks the performance of 34 locally listed companies with a significant equity interest held by entities in the Chinese mainland.
