China's agricultural product prices up 0.5% from last week

Updated: 2009-08-13 15:29 Prices of agricultural products in 36 Chinese large and medium-sized cities rose 0.5 percent this week from August 3, according to figures released by the Ministry of Commerce Wednesday.
Vegetable prices climbed 4.5 percent week on week due to a decrease in supplies caused by rainstorms, while egg prices rose 0.7 percent from a week earlier. The wholesale prices of pork, beef and mutton edged up 1.9 percent, 0.5 percent and 0.1 percent, the ministry said. (For more biz stories, please visit Industries)
