China imposes tariffs on coated art paper
(Xinhua)
Updated: 2009-08-05 11:27 China will impose anti-dumping tariffs on coated art paper from Japan and the Republic of Korea for five years, said the Ministry of Commerce Tuesday. The anti-dumping tariffs will take effect on Wednesday this week, but the ministry did not give details. China's paper industry may be hurt if anti-dumping duties imposed in 2003 are scrapped, the ministry said.
Coated paper is used for high-quality printing, such as magazines. China first imposed temporary tariffs on paper imported from the United States, the Republic of Korea and Japan in November 2002 as a result of its first anti-dumping investigation after joining the World Trade Organization.
