Chrysler still keen on China market

Recently, DaimlerChrysler completed its reorganization, with Cerberus Capital Management LP gaining 80.1 percent of Chrysler Group and DaimlerChrysler keeping the rest. "However, it will not affect Chrysler's business in the Chinese market and we will continue to release our models in China," said Simon Elliott, president andchief executive officerof Chrysler (China) Sales Company.

When the Chrysler 300C entered into production inBeijinglast year, its monthly sales averaged 1,300 units. Beijing Benz-DaimlerChrysler will maintain the momentum and is going to bring in another Chrysler model called the Sebring soon.

"We are really keen on the Chinese market, and we will have 10 models including the Chrysler 300C here in China by the first quarter of next year," said Eric Ridenour,chief operating officerof Chrysler Group. "Chrysler and Jeep brands will have 60 more dealers for a total of 130 next year in China, while Dodge will have 60 independent dealers by the end of this year."
