Sichuan premium income on steady rise

Southwest China's Sichuan Province realized a premium income of 5.63 billion yuan (US$728.2 million) in January and February, an increase of 35.53 percent from a year earlier, data from the China Insurance Regulatory Commission Sichuan bureau showed.

The growth rate in Sichuan ranked seventh across China.

Premiums from property insurance companies rose 62.53 percent to 1.51 billion yuan in the first two months of this year. Premiums from life insurance companies rose 24.11 percent to 4.12 billion yuan. Insurance payouts to policyholders during the same period surged 130.13 percent to 1.97 billion yuan.
