Hong Kong's unrivalled advantage of serving inward investors as their financial, trading and logistics services hub was promoted at the 9th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) held in Xiamen, Fujian, last September.

Hong Kong is set to become a highlight of the 10th CIFIT this year.

The 9th CIFIT attracted more than 12,000 participants from 125 countries and regions, including delegations sent by 350 overseas institutions from 90 countries and regions.

The themes of the 9th CIFIT Fair were "Introducing Foreign Direct Investment" and "Going Global."

Overseas government institutions, trade associations and enterprises from 61 countries set up booths to introduce their investment environments and to contact potential investors on the Chinese mainland.

Other major features of the CIFIT included the international investment forum, investment promotion seminars, and a project matchmaking symposium.

Invest Hong Kong (IHK), Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's investment promotion agency, and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) have jointly organized a Hong Kong Pavilion at the fair in the past few years to promote Hong Kong's business environment.

Visitors from the mainland and overseas were introduced to the benefits of setting up businesses in Hong Kong and how IHK could help them throughout the investment process.

Other services offered to mainland investors include the one-stop service and a toll-free IHK 800 hotline.
