Although Chinese pharmaceuticals, especially traditional Chinese medicine,
sell like hot cakes on the global market with rapid growth in exports, there are
still challenges, according to customs insiders from Fuzhou, capital of East
China's Fujian Province.
Fujian Province witnessed US$47.353 million in pharmaceutical exports during
the January-April period this year, up 47.1 percent compared with the same
period last year.Prepared traditional Chinese medicine exports reached US$5.477
million, up 230 percent year on year, statistics showed.
Private enterprises have become the main force for pharmaceutical exports in
the province, with total exports of US$31.69 million, up 47.5 percent and
accounting for 66.9 percent of the total pharmaceutical exports in Fujian.
