China, Portuguese forum to be launched (Xinhua) Updated: 2006-05-19 10:26
The second China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Economic Cooperation Forum
will be held in Macao from September 25 to 26, according to a press release
issued here Thursday.
The release from the host Macao's Information
Bureau said ministerial-level officials and entrepreneurs from China and
Portuguese-speaking nations, will participate in the forum.
The release
said under the theme of "Strengthen Cooperation, Common Development," the
participants during the forum are to review the implementation of the "Action
Plan for Economic and Trade Cooperation," which was approved in the first forum.
Meanwhile, a cooperation scheme is expected to be worked out for the
period of 2007 to 2009, said the release.
The first China and
Portuguese-speaking Countries Economic Cooperation Forum was held here in
October 2003.
The forum was established in a bid to promote trade
between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries, with Macao acting as a
