Diving prince Tian Liang retiresPopular Chinese athlete Tian Liang has decided to retire from diving. Known as the "diving prince", Tian grabbed his last diving gold in 2005 at the 10th National Games. The medal came almost a year after he was dismissed from the national team for excessive participation in commercial activities and rumors about his personal relationship.

Following this formal retirement, he is likely to return to his studies in Tsinghua University. The 27-year-old Tian, from Shaanxi, joined the national team in 1993 at the age of 14, winning gold in the men's 10-meter platform event at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
