The magnifying effect of Internet can make or break the future of a product, as consumers have enough channels to voice their comments, Lei said during the ongoing World Internet Conference that runs through Friday.
We are willing to help more Chinese startups to gain a foothold in the upgraded Chinese market with better quality and lower prices, where demand for quality consumer goods has been growing fast, he added.
Lei's company Xiaomi that started out as a smartphone maker invested in 56 Chinese firms in the past two years, whose products have turned out to be very well-received in the country soon to be the world's largest consumer goods market.
The conference, the most high-profile Internet related event in China, is taking place in the picturesque water town of Wuzhen, Zhejiang province, during Dec 16 to 18.
Guests at 10 forums will exchange views on a wide range of topics such as Internet culture communication, Internet innovation and development, digital economic cooperation, cyber security, Internet plus, cyberspace governance and the digital Silk Road.
