The tiny human-presence sensor can be placed anywhere, Lin said. It can detect a moving object with 170 degrees angle, and is connected to the gateway under ZigBee protocol. ZigBee is a global wireless standard.
The thumb-sized door and window sensors can be stuck onto doors and windows and provide real-time monitoring, according to Lin. Also connected to the gateway via ZigBee, the sensors allow the user to remotely check doors and windows of his house whenever he wants.
The gateway in the suite uses Xiaomi's self-developed "smart module", which allows the user to control all ZigBee devices in his house with a Xiaomi phone.
