Xiaomi launches new Note in Beijing

Lei Jun, Xiaomi's founder and CEO, said at the smartphone maker's latest flagship launch event that "Xiaomi wants to make phones the center of smart homes. Phones should be used to control all gadgets. We hope to fix the problem of connectivity and the cloud."

"Xiaomi is putting out a unified unit to make everything smart. We have developed a smartphone app that operates with everything we have developed and invested in. On top of that we have offered this functionality to the market."
