Nanjing fair woos project investors

The China Nanjing Investment Fair will be held between April 28 and 29 in Jiangsu province.

The fair aims to promote innovation and economic transformation and enhance cooperation between the regions, organizers said.

Officials and business representatives from Nanjing, Zhenjiang, Yangzhou and Huai'an in Jiangsu province and cities of Ma'anshan, Wuhu, Chuzhou and Chaohu in Anhui province will attend.

The event is seeking investment for 72 projects worth 474.8 billion yuan ($68 billion).

Among the opportunities are 31 manufacturing projects, 38 service projects and 3 agricultural projects.

All the projects are related to the city's pillar and new industries of advanced science and technology. They include integrated circuits, mobile communications equipment, transit rail parts, commercial airplane parts, software design, logistics, and creative culture undertakings.

To provide a good environment for the development of these industries, the city government has planned special areas in which certain industries will be concentrated.

In the next few years, a number of science parks will be built, including China Nanjing Liquid Crystal Valley, China Wireless Industry Valley, Biomedicine Valley, Baima Agricultural Valley and Mofan Road Innovation Block.

Also several high-tech industries will be concentrated in the Southern New City, New Airport Area, Nanjing Ecological Science Area and North Bank New City.

At the fair, exhibitions to boost the opportunities of cooperation and investment will be held, including:

Exhibition on Science and Technology. Participants include Nanjing Science and Technology Innovation Park, China Software City, Nanjing Mofan Road Innovation Block, China Nanjing Liquid Crystal Valley, China Wireless Industry Valley, Nanjing Biomedicine Valley and Nanjing Baima Agricultural Valley.

Exhibition on Urban Development and Construction. Participants are Hexi New City, Sino-Singapore Ecological Science Islet, Nanjing Xiaguan Riverbank New City, Nanjing North Bank New City and Nanjing Southern New City.

Exhibition on Industrial Development. Industries at the exhibition are electronic information, petrochemical, auto, iron and steel, wind power equipment, intelligence grid and power automation, telecommunications, biomedicine, transit rail, software and outsourcing services logistics, tourism, creative culture and information service.

A mayor summit will be another highlight at the fair. With the theme of integration and mutual benefit, eight city mayors from Jiangsu and Anhui provinces will hold a meeting to discuss expansion of intercity transportation networks and regional cooperation in economy, culture and tourism.
