Li: Central government supports Hong Kong's development

Vice-Premier Li Keqiang sent his regards and wishes to Hong Kong citizens this morning during his first visit to the territory as Vice-Premier.
"The major goal for me to visit Hong Kong this time is to attend the forum on China's 12th Five-year Plan and discuss economic, trade, and financial developments between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong," said Li.
He continued by saying that the trip aimed to reflect the Central government's interest in and support of Hong Kong's development in trade and finance, and that he thinks it necessary to strengthen the cross-border relationship.
"I hope that by visiting, seeing and listening, my understanding of Hong Kong can deepen," he said.
Li was greeted by Chief Executive Donald Tsang along with officials from the SAR government and the territory's liaison office.
Later today he will have a short talk with Tsang, after which he will visit low and middle income families, care centers for the elderly, the Housing Authority, and business representatives.
Li arrived in the territory at 11:30 this morning.and his visit will last for three days.
