8000 jobs offered to high-tech professionals

More than 8,000 jobs were offered at the job fair of the China Hi-Tech Fair 2010 on Nov 16, attracting more than 12,000 job seekers on the opening day of the fair.

More than 300 well-known companies, such as Lenovo, IBM, Baidu, Gome, TCL and BYD, offered jobs with annual salary of at least 60,000 yuan.

The jobs were mainly middle and high-level management positions in areas such as biological medicine, electronics, IT, computer sciences, engineering, cars, logistics, new materials, new energy and environmental protection.

Most of the job seekers received higher education, in which more than 800 seekers owned master and doctorial degrees, and at least half had at least three years of working experience in the related fields.

Salaries offered by the companies all increased by 15 to 20 percent compared with last year's fair and number of positions with annual salary of over 300,000 were also growing.

"We attended the fair for three years in a row and were very satisfied with the results each time. This year was even better as level of the professionals has been increased," a person in charge from Ningbo delegation.
