The Green Industry Forum 2010, being held Nov 24 in Beijing, is a symbol of China's hopes to cooperate with the world in developing a green economy and a place to show China's achievements in green industries.
The forum, whose theme is "a green economy leads future world development", is a part of the China International Green Industry Expo 2010.
The forum will pull in around 800 delegates, including government officials, national leaders, experts and representatives of international organizations and multinationals.
Senior officials from China's State Council, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hungarian Economy Ministry, and Finnish Employment and Economy Ministry, as well as CEOs from a number of leading enterprises will speak at the forum.
There will be four smaller forums held over the next two days, with 1,400 delegates taking part, that focus on green industry policies, energy conservation and emissions reduction, new energy technologies and investment and financing for green industries.
The smaller forums will have discussions, Q&A sessions, and about 30 keynote speakers who are officials of government or international organizations, ambassadors, executives from leading energy enterprises, and scholars.
Scientists and business leaders will be able to exchange information at these forums in the morning of Nov 26.
There will be lectures given by representatives of international financial organization, such as Nomura International's president, Mika Shinohara. Others include Chinese officials like Xu Lin, director of the National Development and Reform Committee's finance department; Sun Xiaoxia, director of the Ministry of Finance's finance department; and Liu Yajun, director of the Ministry of Commerce's foreign capital department.
The smaller forums were designed with the idea of improving China's economic growth mode more rapidly, and increasing the work on energy preservation and a circular economy.
They also serve the purpose of increasing global cooperation, dialog between Chinese and top overseas industries, and China's international role in green industries and a green economy.
