Inner Mongolia leads the way in wind power

North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region is the country's top wind power generator, according to China National Radio.

As of the end of March, the region's installed wind power capacity was 11.4 million kW, over 30 percent of the country's total.

The local government said it aimed to increase its wind power capacity by 3.5 million kW in 2011, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The region's entire wind power capacity reached 10 million kW in 2010, generating 19.92 billion kWh of electricity.
