CITIC is the leading financial advisor of Chinese companies involved in M&A transactions in the first quarter of 2013, according to the latest data released by Thomson Reuters. CITIC advised five deals with a total value of $5.203 billion, over 10 percent of the total value of M&A transactions with Chinese company involvement in the first quarter of 2013. There were a total of 755 M&A transactions with a transaction value of $48.232 billion. The biggest deal was PetroChina Co Ltd's acquisition of 28.6 percent of ENI East Africa SpA, an oil and gas company from Mozambique, for $4.21 billion.
