GUANGZHOU - Huawei said Saturday its mobile phone shipments have exceeded 100 million units, up 19 percent year-on-year, in the first three quarters this year.
The growth raised the company's operating revenue by more than 30 percent from January to September, said Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's consumer business group.
The number of Huawei retail outlets has increased by 19 percent year-on-year to 42,300 worldwide.
Yu said Huawei plans medium and high-end products to expand its global market and upgrade its brand image.
"With over 10,000 employees around the world working on research and development, we expect to win more high-end customers, as there is more profit in high-end sector," he said.
Figures show Huawei passed Apple Inc, to become the world's second largest mobile phone company in market share in June and July, and it remains top of China's domestic market.
