A focus of the 2016 International Sports Services Trade Conference, to be held from May 28 to June 1 in Beijing, will be ice-snow sports and the 2022 Winter Olympics, the Beijing Sports Bureau, who will host the conference, said.
At a press briefing on Thursday in the city, the bureau said the conference, an important section of the fourth China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services, would include an exhibition that centers on ice-snow sports and Internet Plus sport, a symposium and promotional activities.
About 30 percent of the exhibitors will be related to ice-snow sports, covering fields such as venue operation, investment and professional clubs, the host said. Other exhibitors include Internet-based sports media and service organizations that lead new trends and developments in global sport.
The five-day exhibition will also provide a curling sheet and an 80-square-meter skating rink for visitors to try ice sports.
The symposium during the conference will discuss topics such as business opportunities that the 2022 Winter Olympics, to be hosted by Beijing and Zhangjiakou in Hebei province, will bring to the ice-snow sports sector, and the trend of international winter sports.
The conference will also discuss Beijing's policies for the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) on promoting the sport service industry to attract more investors, the host said.
