Guangzhou OED Technologies Co Ltd, a leading Chinese electronic paper display producer, will provide their technology to Russian smartphone maker Yota Devices in its next generation of products.
Both OED Technologies Co Ltd and Yota Devices recently signed a cooperative agreement.
"We are now on pace to create new demand for electronic paper displays," said Chen Yu, CEO of OED Technologies.
According to Chen, the latest technologies of OED, which specializes in research, development and manufacture of electronic paper displays, would be used in the third-generation of Yotaphone, helping improve its products.
The novel smartphone has a second E Ink display on its back, which can provide various notifications and messages and help reduce battery use.
In May, the Russian company launched its YotaPhone2 in the Chinese market.
The dual-screen phone got a big blast of publicity in China when Russian President Vladimir Putin gave one as a gift to Chinese President Xi Jinping at the 2014 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders' Meeting in Beijing.
"With closer cooperation with Chinese suppliers, substantial increase in sales is expected in China," said Vladislav Martynov, CEO of Yota Devices.
The CEO said the company is seeking to cooperate with more specialist companies to improve its products.
