Beijing Capital Airlines, a subsidiary of China's fourth-largest carrier Hainan Airlines, will launch direct charter flights from Beijing and Hangzhou to Copenhagen in Denmark.

The Beijing route is expected to start on Sept 6, while the first Hangzhou flight to Copenhagen is penciled in for Sept 3. The airline, which will use Airbus A330 on the routes, will operate two flights a week.

As part of a cooperation agreement between Beijing Caissa International Travel Service Co and Scandinavian Tourist Board, the charter flights will run until Oct 25. They are expected to attract more than 3,000 Chinese visitors to the Danish capital, according to Zheng Dan, assistant director of Caissa.

"Our cooperation agreement with the Scandinavian Tourist Board aims to further explore the tourism options in northern Europe and provide the Chinese tourists with a better traveling experience," she said.
