Foxconn to help Guizhou develop cloud data

Guizhou province signed a series of agreements with Foxconn Technology GroupAlibaba Group and 21Vianet Group Inc, on developing cloud data in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Wednesday.

Under the deal, free Wi-Fi service will be provided before June 11, 2015. It will eventually be extended to public areas in Guiyang in the next three years.

Foxconn Technology Group will coordinate its investments with the local government for an e-commerce project in Guiyang. It will become the base of e-commerce trading and management for the company's e-business.

"I'm confident that the projects in Guizhou will become the model for the electronic information industry in China," said Terry Guo, founder and chairman of Foxconn Technology Group, at the ceremony.
