China unveils top machinery, auto manufacturers
CHENGDU - The China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF) and China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on Thursday announced the country's top 100 machinery manufacturers and top 30 automobile producers in 2012, respectively.
China National Machinery Industry Corporation topped the list of machinery manufacturers with main business revenues totaling 212 billion yuan ($34.3 billion), up 11.73 percent year on year, according to CMIF Vice President Cai Weici.
The top four car manufacturers each reported business revenues totaling more than 200 billion yuan, with Shanghai Automobile Industry Co taking the top spot.
Machinery and automobile manufacturers are faring well despite the economic slowdown and sluggish market, said CMIF President Wang Ruixiang.
About half of the country's machinery and automobile companies saw profit growth last year, Wang added.
