Zhanjiang Guolian Aquatic Products Co Ltd said in a statement on Monday that it has set up a group of lawyers to cope with the anti-dumping investigation launched by the United States Department of Commerce.

The US Department of Commerce said on Jan 18 that it started an investigation into subsidized imports of shrimp from China, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

The probe is the first into Chinese agricultural products from the US. Zhanjiang Guolian Aquatic Products was identified as one of the respondents.

In 2011, the US imported frozen warm water shrimp from China worth an estimated $153.7 million, 8.4 percent less than in 2010, according to US government's data. The US government has already imposed anti-dumping duty orders on frozen warm water shrimp from Brazil, China, India, Thailand and Vietnam.
