VIENTIANE -- The Chinese government donated 14 vehicles and some electronic equipment to the Lao government Monday.
The donations were provided for the upcoming 9th Asia-Europe Summit Meeting, or ASEM-9, scheduled for Nov 5-6 in Lao capital Vientiane.
Speaking on the occasion, Chinese ambassador to Laos Bu Jianguo said that the donations, which aim to help Lao government improve the infrastructure construction of the meetings, reflect the friendship between two countries and two peoples.
Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, minister and head of government's office, while thanking China for the contribution, said the vehicles and equipment will be used to serve the upcoming ASEM meeting. The government and people of Laos appreciate China's technical support.
