OSAKA,Japan - A business information seminar on promoting investment in China's Dezhou city of Shandong province was held Wednesday in Osaka, western Japan, attracting about 70 business leaders and officials from Osaka and its surrounding region of Kansai.
The event, titled "Dezhou City Investment Environment Information Seminar", was organized by the Municipal People's Government of Dezhou in cooperation with Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aiming to attract Japanese investment and also to realize new commercial or trading opportunities in the fast-growing city with a population of 5.8 million people.
Participants including representatives from major trading companies, fabric makers, leasing companies, or department stores were invited to watch a video program and learn the city's ideal location between capital Beijing and Shanghai as well as its logistical and transportation infrastructure such as high-speed railways and motorways both connecting the cities by a couple of hours.
During the session, Qu Chunyao, head of the Dezhou delegation, expressed the hope to promote friendship and cooperation between companies in Dezhou and Osaka, adding that the city wants to establish an "ideal" industrial and research base in China.
"The city is now particularly focusing on "10 plus three" fields as the city's leading industries to modernize and develop its vast estate, among them are food processing, chemical industry, logistics industry and IT technology," Qu said.
Following the main session, the participants exchanged their business ideas and some of the successful investment models.
