Topic 1: As the Spring Festival approaches, the world's largest-scale human migration is about to begin in China. The Ministry of Railways announced at the end of last year the launch of an online railway ticket booking system to help reduce the pressure on railway station ticket windows. This year, the ministry adopted measures such as real-name ticket booking and telephone and online railway ticket booking services to facilitate the booking of tickets for the general public. However, it remains to be seen whether these measures will work or not.

QIDAIYURENLAI: From Jan 3, my friends and I began waiting in front of computers as early as 6 am, logging on to the online railway ticket booking system to buy a ticket. However, we still failed to get even one ticket using three computers over three days in succession.

YIQIANGQIANG: I didn't get a ticket after a whole day's waiting in the railway station, which makes me rather unhappy.

MILEJUN: Migrant workers will be the largest group who fail to get railway tickets this year, as the online and telephone booking systems allow people to book tickets a couple of days in advance, ahead of those who wait at railway station ticket windows.

Topic 2: What makes a man attractive to a woman? The answer from about 80 percent of single women is a monthly salary of more than 4,000 yuan ($634), according to a survey released by a matchmaking service industry commissioned by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and Baihe.com, a domestic dating service website. The survey also suggests that 27.1 percent of single women think it's appropriate for a man to fall in love only when his monthly salary is more than 10,000 yuan.

LAURAJINGJING: Should the number be lifted a little if you live in Beijing?

XIAOLUOJIE: I don't know how the Ministry of Civil Affairs got the figures. I also want to know what class of women were interviewed in the survey.

AMAZINGSHINY: According to the survey, close to 80 percent of single women think a man is qualified to maintain a relationship only when they have a monthly salary of more than 4,000 yuan. I think it also explains why these women are still single now.
