All-new BMW 1 Series hit Chinese market

Two models in the second-generation BMW 1 Series - the Urban Line and the Sport Line - hit the Chinese market last week priced at 278,000 and 306,000 yuan. Both cars use distinctive, stylish interior and exterior design features and equipment to meet personalized tastes.
Powered by a 1.6-liter engine using the automaker's TwinPower turbo technology, the BMW 1 Series Urban Line produces top torque of 220 Nm and maximum power of 100 kW. It accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds.
The Sport Line, equipped with a refined version of the same engine, has maximum torque of 250 Nm and peak power of 125 kW. Acceleration time from zero to 100 km/h is just 7.5 seconds.
An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard in both cars, which is unique in the segment.
With an Eco-Pro mode that optimizes the operation of engine and air conditioning system, the cars are more environmentally friendly with average fuel consumption of 5.6 liters per 100 km and carbon emissions of 131 g/km.
The cars are 85 mm longer than the previous generation, with a 30 mm longer wheelbase.
