Topic 1: According to figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Dec 9, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in November increased by 4.2 percent year-on-year and dropped 0.2 percent compared with last month, reaching its lowest level since last September 2010. Is the price of commodities falling?
QINGSHANYIJIUZAIW: The price of eggs has decreased.
HANSONINFINITY: It is the CPI growth rate that falls, not the CPI itself.
LANGNADIANHAO: The news said that the CPI increased by 4.2 percent year-on-year, and it causes people stress. In my opinion, no matter how overwhelming the pressure in life is, it is not as high as the uncontrollable mental pressure.
XIAONVZIHEHE77: I always suffer from a lack of money especially at the year's end. Ah, when will my salary catch up with the growth of the country's consumer price index?
If this should ever happen, I'll be very happy.
Topic 2: The process of asking for opinions on the issue of including PM 2.5 in the air quality standard finished recently. It was reported that the Ministry of Environmental Protection collected more than 1,500 views from the public. The ministry said it will complete a draft paper on air quality standards and release it as soon as possible.
HONGXINGYIKETOU: PM stands for particulate matter and the figure of PM 2.5 refers to the volume of particulate matter with a diameter lower than or equal to 2.5 microns in one cubic meter of air. The higher the figure is, the worse the air quality is.
XIANGSHI: My company just gave a respirator produced by 3M (Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Corp) to every employee in order to protect us from PM 2.5.
SHENGCHUNWEIBO: I'm always wondering why Beijing remains so attractive to people. This is a city struggling with traffic jams, high property prices. Now one more thing is added - PM 2.5.
