Topic 1: A school bus accident occurred on Nov 16 in Yulinzi township, Zhengning county, Gansu province, that killed 21 people, 19 of whom were children. The nine-seat bus had been illegally refitted and was carrying 64 people when it collided head-on with a coal truck in the morning. The day after the tragedy, the Ministry of Education urged schools and kindergartens nationwide to conduct safety checks on their school buses.
BABYZIRUI: Why is people's attention always attracted after the accidents happen? I don't see any value in being precautionary.
LIUYISHANGWU: There is a privilege in China that we support - the yellow privileged school buses in Deqing county, in East China's Zhejiang province. The county government spent more than 20 million yuan ($3.13 million) in purchasing 79 American school buses and put them into operation. Every pre-schooler has to pay 1 yuan for a single ride but the service is free for poor children. Moreover, the yellow school buses enjoy all kinds of priority on the roads.
Topic 2: Apple Inc changed its purchase terms in its application store in China on Nov 18. Its App Store began to accept payment in yuan. All items in Apple's application store in China are priced in renminbi and consumers are able to buy applications with the currency. Previously, users could only purchase those applications with dollars. After the reform, Chinese users are also able to recharge their Apple accounts with some major domestic bank cards.
MPQIABEIBEI: I think my spending at Apple's App Store will witness a significant increase in the future.
LIU98HUI: It has become a lot more convenient for me to buy Apple's applications. I think the renminbi has really become more and more useful.
ZHIWURUGEZ: Finally there are no more excuses for those people who use pirated Apple applications.
SHOUDIANTONG: No more pirated!
