Almost 200 aviation companies gathered at the 14th Beijing Aviation Expo, the oldest aviation expo in China.
China Aviation Industry Corporation, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, Honeywell, Russian Helicopter and other internationally-renowned aviation companies attended the expo.
Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co was one of the many companies that signed contracts at the expo. Shanghai Aircraft signed a 10-year contract with Boeing for horizontal stabilizers for the company's 737 aircraft. AgustaWestland and Chongqing Helicopter Investment Corporation Limited signed a Statement of Intent to explore potential collaboration in the helicopter field. Aviation Industry Corporation of China, China's largest aircraft manufacturer, made its debut of the metal model of Yangtze CJ1000A at the expo. The engine, China's first commercial turbofan engine, will allow homegrown large-scale aircraft, C919, to fly.
This year's expo ran from Sept 21 to 24. The next Beijing Aviation Expo will be held in Beijing Tianzhu Free Trade Zone in 2013.
