Mark Howes, president of Honeywell Aerospace's Asia-Pacific region, has won the "Leadership Excellence Award"at the China Aerospace Laureate Awards Ceremony held on September 21, 2011, on Beijing Airshow.
Howes is the first non-Chinese citizen to receive the prestigious China Aerospace Laureate Award in its seven-year history. Howes'strategic vision, firm understanding of China's aviation industry and emphasis on the need for comprehensive and cooperative partnership has resulted in Honeywell's strong market performance, localization and leadership in China, the organizer comments.
Howes'visionary leadership has helped elevate the Chinese aviation industry to a strategic position in Asia by focusing on the promotion of safety, efficiency and modernization of air traffic in the country. Through the establishment of Honeywell's in-market partnerships, Howes has led the company to enter China's full aircraft platform, involved in promoting the value chain growth of China's aviation industry including production, knowledge sharing, cooperative R&D and training.
Introduced in 2005, as the highest award of the industry today, the China Aerospace Laureate Awards are designed to recognize organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to Chinese aviation and aerospace. The awards are supported by various institutions including the government, military, enterprises, as well as the Change Foundation and Laureate Foundation.
