Chinese shares open slightly lower Wednesday

BEIJING -- Chinese shares opened slightly lower Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.09 percent to open at 2,764.56.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 0.29 percent to open at 11,716.15.
