Beijing airport sees more passengers during National Day holiday

BEIJING - Beijing Capital International Airport said on Oct 7 it will receive about 236,000 passengers on Oct 7 as the week-long holiday ends.

The airport is expected to handle 1.75 million passengers over the National Day holiday period, about 32.57 percent up from the same period last year, according to the airport.

China's National Day holiday runs from Oct 1 to 7.

The airport has made full preparations to cope with the expected high number of passengers returning from their holidays, especially stepping up security measures, said an official with the airport.
