Mainland delegation to seek co-op with Taiwan LED producers

TAIPEI - The mainland is in great need of LED blacklight device and we will visit main producers in Taiwan to discuss possible cooperation, said Bai Weimin, secretary general of the mainland-based China Video Industry Association, at a press conference here Tuesday.

A delegation from the association has been visiting Taiwan since Monday. It is made up of managers of eight major TV manufacturers in the mainland, including Haier, Hisense, TCL and Skyworth.

Bai said that last year, the mainland produced 99 million color TV sets, accounting for 47 percent of the world's total production.

"The mainland has become the world's largest color TV producer and consumer, which means great potential for Taiwan's businesses, " Bai said.
