The Chinese official said the cooperation between China's Chery Automobile and DME has contributed to pushing forward the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, and the development of Egypt's automobile industry.

With the solicitude of the leaders of the two countries, bilateral cooperation has deepened and trade and investment environment improved, said Wang, who is also vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, the country's top political advisory body.

Companies of the two sides should continue to uphold the principles of mutual benefit and common development and enhance their comprehensive competitiveness to boom Egypt's car market and provide more and better products for Egyptian consumers, Wang said.

Wang, who is heading a CPC delegation on a visit to Egypt, has held talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif and Secretary-General Safwat el-Sherif of Egypt's ruling National Democratic Party. The delegation arrived in Cairo on Saturday.

Chery signed an agreement of strategic partnership with DME in November 2005, shortly after the latter ended cooperation with the world known automobile manufacturer GM Daewoo.
