BEIJING - Chinese shares dropped remarkably to nearly one-year low on Tuesday with banks leading the slump.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index shrank 1.90 percent to close at 2,647.57 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index shed 1.68 percent to 10,091.20 points.
Total turnover expanded to 175.92 billion yuan ($25.76 billion) from 168.48 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Losers outnumbered gainers by 775 to 100 in Shanghai and 803 to 121 in Shenzhen.
