HK air cargo tonnage up 37.5% in Q1

HONG KONG - Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) announced Monday total volumes handled by Hactl for the first quarter this year registered a significant growth of 37. 5 percent, compared with the same period in the previous year.

Hactl handled 636,743 tons of cargo in the first quarter, representing a year-on-year growth of 37.5 percent. The cargo tonnage grew 30.8 percent in March to 244,087 tons in March. The volume of the last week in March set a new single-week record.

The total export volume was 131,349 tons for March and 338,446 tons for the first quarter, up 36.1 percent and 42.9 percent year- on-year respectively.

The total import volume was 63,740 tons for March and 174,569 tons for the first quarter, up 33.5 percent and 42 percent year-on- year respectively.
