Chinese equities closed mixed on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.14 percent or 4.39 points to close at 3,046.09 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index advanced 0.02 percent, or 2.95 points, to end at 12,236.73 points.

Combined turnover stood at 188 billion yuan ($27.53 billion), up from 178.38 billion yuan the previous trading day.

Gainers outnumbered losers by 471 to 382 in Shanghai and 439 to 427 in Shenzhen.
