Suning Appliance to open at least 200 stores in 2009

Suning Appliance Chain Store (Group) Co Ltd said it will open at least 200 stores next year.

The company said it will enter 70 new Chinese cities and recruit at least 36,000 employees in 2009, according to a statement published on its website.

According to its third-quarter report, the company opened 167 new stores in 21 cities in the first nine months, giving it 784 stores with total floor area of 3.32 million square meters.

Earlier this week, China announced a plan to subsidize white goods manufacturers to support sales of home appliances in rural areas.
