The Second Chinese Commodities (Vietnam) Fair opened in Hanoi Thursday, with the participation of about 100 Chinese companies in different sectors.

Typical products on show at the four-day fair include household electronic appliances, Chinese herbal medicine, machineries, garments and textiles.

Chinese companies will take this opportunity to study the local investment environment and boost business cooperation with their Vietnamese partners, said Jiang Ming, vice president of the China General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC), one of the organizers.

The annual fair is jointly held by the CGCC and the Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Bilateral trade between China and Vietnam has been developing at a fast pace over the past few years. In the first four months this year, two-way trade reached $7.11 billion, up 69. 4 percent year-on-year, according to the General Administration of Customs of China.
