Suzuki recalls 175 Grand Vitara cars(Xinhua)
Updated: 2007-12-27 17:05 Japanese auto maker Suzuki was recalling 175 cars sold in China for fuel pipe flaws, China's quality watchdog said in Beijing on Wednesday. The recalled cars, all manufactured in Japan between June 2006 and July 2007, were three-door super "Grand Vitara" sedans sold in China under the type number TA74V. The company said these cars were recalled since the oil return tube had a design flaw that, if not repaired, could cause cracks in tubes and lead to fuel leaks and possibly to fires. The Japanese auto maker would replace the fuel pipe spare parts and add fixers for the recalled cars, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said. The auto maker also said its "Grand Vitara" sedans produced in August 2007 and thereafter were free from such flaws. Owners of the flawed cars would be informed via phone or mail of the recall, said the Japanese maker.
