Workers should get proper wages for their labor, says an article in Yanzhao Metropolis News. The following is an excerpt:

The Global Times reported that Henry Ford, the American founder of the Ford Motor Company, thought that there was no issue more important than the level of salary.

The Ford Motor Company surprised the US public in the early 20th century when it offered daily wages of $5 to its workers, which was 2.5 times the average wage at the time.

It was an effective incentive for the workers, and helped the company gain a leading position in the automobile industry.

Ford and his company attached importance to the welfare and individual development of employees, which was also beneficial to the growth of the business itself.

Compared with Ford, many Chinese entrepreneurs are relatively shortsighted. They only look for instant profits, they do not realize fair wages improve work efficiency, and gain the loyalty of workers, which can only be good for the company.

When employees are paid unreasonably low wages, they are also unable to get proper training or education. Hence, businesses do not get qualified workers, they lack loyalty, and the country itself is not able to compete on the global stage.

In our country, the majority of people live solely on their wages, and the level of wages decides their living standards.
