ADB to loan US$200m to build Sichuan road

Asian Development Bank (ADB) recently announced it will offer US$200 million in loans for road construction in the eastern, poor areas of Sichuan Province.

The development project, which will connect Chongqing and Xi'an with convenient roads, includes a budget total of more than US$1.4 billion.

According to the plan, a new 143 meter long toll highway with four lanes will cross the highlands, and 430 kilometers of existing poor country roads will be rebuilt.
