Tires made in China are likely to become the next victim of a combination of US countervailing anddumpingcharges after coated paper and steel pipes.
Stewart and Stewart, on behalf of the US industry, on June 18 filed a petition with the US department of commerce and the international trade commission requesting the government to conduct a probe to see if a combination of countervailing and
anti-dumpingduties can be imposed on Chinese "off-the-road" tires.
The Chinese government will keep a close watch on the process, commerce ministry spokesman Wang Xinpei said yesterday.
The US company said certain Chinese tires have hurt US players. It's expected to take India as the subrogate country in calculating Chinese firms' "dumping rate".
