Tibet tourism booms

With the opening of the Qinghai-Tibet railway, the Tibet Autonomous Region's tourism revenue reached 636.24 million yuan in the first five months of 2007, a 78.6 percent growth compared to the same period last year. Foreign visitors increased 63.5 percent during the period.

Macao price index

Macao's composite consumer price index (CCPI) in May increased 0.57 percent over the previous month, standing at 113.22, according to official statistics. The government-run Statistics and Census Service attributes the rise of the CCPI mainly to the price rise in sectors such as housing, food and clothes. But entertainment prices fell during the month, the figures showed.
