The government has thus selected 222 "most competitive brands" and focused on their protection. IPR protection in exhibitions has been strengthened as well. At the recent China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), 573 cases of IPR violation were detected and 509 enterprises stopped on the spot for IPR violation. The government will make more efforts to provide better professional services to enterprises in terms of IPR protection, said Jiang. The government bodies concerned are working on an IPR regulation in foreign trade as the government aims to strengthen its role in trade, encourage innovation and protect the rights of enterprises. The government will continue to develop foreign trade through technology innovation, aiming to increase exports of indigenous brands. China will also participate more actively in international organizations and forums to formulate IPR-related regulations, the official said.
